what we believe
the Bible
The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. The Bible is God’s word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives.
Psalm 119:11, Isaiah 40:8, 2 Timothy 3:15-17
man
Man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Man was created to have fellowship with God but became separated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own efforts. Every human personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
Genesis 1:26-30, Psalm 8:3-6, Jeremiah 17:5, 1 Corinthians 21-31
SALVATION
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.
Isaiah 1:18, Matthew 1:21, Acts 2:21, Galatians 2:20
ETERNITY
Man was created to exist forever. He will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.
John 3:16, 36 Romans 6:23 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13 Revelation 20:15
JESUS
Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second Person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind, and thus atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day, according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again one day in power and glory.
John 1:1,14, 20:28, I Timothy 3:16, Isaiah 9:6, Philippians 2:5-6, I Timothy 2:5
THE CHURCH
The church is a community of believers who come together to learn more about the Word of God. It is committed to sharing the teachings of Jesus Christ and desires to take the gospel to the whole world. The church works in love and unity to glorify God.
Matthew 16:18-19, Colossians 1:18, 1 Timothy 4:14, Revelation 21:2-3
THE TRINITY
One God manifested in three people: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Each member of the Trinity fulfills a different mission, but they all have the same power and authority.
1. The Father
God is omnipresent, worthy, and holy. He is a loving father who gave His only son as redemption for sin. (Exodus 3:14, John 3:16, Acts 17:28).
2. The Son
Jesus is fully human and fully God. He died, resurrected, and on the third day He ascended into Heaven and sat at the right hand of God the Father. He overcame death with His resurrection. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-23, John 1:1, Colossians 1:15).
3. The Holy Spirit
The presence of the Holy Spirit helps us to have intimate communication with Jesus. He guides believers to all truth and convicts us of sin. He is our comforter and the one who gives us special gifts. (Psalm 51:11, Joel 2:28-32, Isaiah 61:1-3, Ephesians 1:13-14).
DISCIPLESHIP
Discipleship is the development of the character of Christ. We believe in the importance of discipleship because it was the last command of Jesus Christ before He ascended into heaven.
Mathew 28:19
JESUS' BLOOD
The blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross was sinless and is 100% sufficient to sacrificially cleanse mankind of all sin. Jesus allowed Himself to be punished for both our sinfulness and our sins, enabling all who believe in Him to be free from the penalty of sin, which is death.
I John 1:7, Revelation 1:5, 5:9, Colossians 1:20, Romans 3:10-12, 23, 5:9, John 1:29
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
Given initially at Pentecost, it is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His ascension, to empower the church to preach the gospel throughout the whole earth.
Joel 2:28-29, Matthew 3:11, Mark 16:17, Acts 1:5,2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6
WATER BAPTISM
Following salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38
JESUS IS ALIVE
Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the "saved" and the "lost" will be resurrected; they that are saved to the resurrection of life, and they that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation.
Luke 24:16, 36, 39;John 2:19-21, 20:26-28, 21:4, Acts 24:15; I Corinthians 15:42, 44, Philippians 1:21-23, 3:21
JESUS DWELLS WITHIN YOU
Christians are people who have invited the Lord Jesus Christ to come and live within them through the power of the Holy Spirit. They relinquish the authority over their lives to Him, thus making Jesus the Lord of their lives as well as their Savior. They put their trust in what Jesus accomplished for them when He died, was buried, and rose again from the dead.
John 1:12; John 14:17, 23; John 15:4; Romans 8:11; Revelation 3:20
OUR MISSION
win souls + Make disciples
Based on the Scriptures in Matthew, our goal is to win souls and make disciples like Jesus commanded His disciples. We equip and prepare every member of our church to win and disciple others through the ladder of success. The ladder of success is a model we use from the G12 Vision, founded by Pastor Cesar and Claudia Castellanos of Mission Charismatic International Church in Bogota, Columbia. We believe in the importance of discipleship because it was the last command of Jesus Christ before He ascended into heaven.
18 Then Jesus came close to them and said, “All authority of the universe has been given to me. 19 Now wherever you go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 20 And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age. —Matthew 28:18-20
